About Natalka
Natalka dedicated her life to the Anatolian Shepherd Dog. She traveled to Turkey extensively and brought home many of the foundation dogs of our breed. She founded the Anatolian Shepherd Dog Club of Great Britain and wrote many articles for and about the Anatolian Shepherd Dog. She advocated hip scoring of dogs and healthy breeding practices. She studied dog genetics and encouraged others to do so as well.
I was not lucky enough to know her as I became involved in Anatolian Shepherds about the time of her death. However, she has reached through time with her articles, photographs, friends and her dogs to teach us about the wonderful breed of dog she loved. If we could show even half the dedication to our dogs as she did we could work wonders.
I have made this page to share with you a tiny bit of what she has left behind and in tribute to a wonderful lady who was far ahead of her time. I would also like people to know a little bit of the truth behind the "stories and myths" that are being flung around like battle spears aimed at the hearts of her friends. As Natalka would say, "Truth will out!"

This is the famous Mektup of Obruk. Nickname 'Granny' as she lived to a very ripe old age. Notice she has one ear. No-one really knew how old she was when Natalka imported her, but Natalka had her for well over 10 years. She was a darling. The male is Anadol Yali, photographed with some of their puppies.
Why this dog has become the focus of so much hatred we will never understand. |

bitch MELEMEZ YIGIT OF YAZURDU, at the second try. Note child BARE footed!
in those icy conditions. We had just had tea with the school teacher and
